Monitoring and Analysis of Manufacturing Processes in Automotive Production

E-ISSN 2629-3161

( hereafter called “ The Book Series ” )

is a peer-reviewed scientific book series with a rigorous editorial screening and assessment process made up of several stages:

1. First Check:
The Book Series receives a new book, and the publishing house staff and the in-house editor perform an initial quality check according to
– Minimal engineering requirements
– Competing interests
– Compliance with the editorial policy and ethical standards
– Data availability

2. Editorial Review
After completing the internal checks, the publishing house staff and the in-house editor choose one or more potential editors from the editorial board of the Book Series to handle the submission. This/these editor(s) determine(s) whether reviews from additional experts are needed to evaluate the manuscript. Occasionally, a guest editor is invited to serve instead.

3. Peer Review
For each submitted and pre-selected book the handling editor(s) select(s) independent external academic reviewers based on expertise, publication history, and past reviews, and invites them to provide feedback on the manuscript.

The Book Series uses double-blind peer review. Reviewers and authors remain anonymous; the peer reviewers may choose to identify themselves by allowing us to make the review public.

4. Final Decision
The handling editor(s) make(s) the final decision on each manuscript. They consider external peer reviewers’ feedbacks and their own evaluation of the manuscript in order to reach a decision. The following decision types are available:
• Rejection
• Major revision
• Minor revision
• Acceptance

Decisions are communicated to the corresponding authors via e-mails, along with reviewers’ feedbacks and any other requirements from the book series office.
